We were fully booked again yesterday!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to see me!!!
In the end, I was working for 11 hours straight—
and yet, I’m still full of energy.
My sympathetic nervous system is way too active… there’s just no stopping it.
As usual, I finished my English pronunciation and listening practice today,
and afterward, I was chatting with ChatGPT.
Do you remember that in yesterday’s journal, I briefly mentioned how my memory always feels vague?
While talking with ChatGPT, I realized that the reason behind it seems to be a unique characteristic of how I process memory—it turns out my memory is context-dependent!
Context-dependent memory means that memories are strongly tied to a specific “place, person, or situation,”
so unless I find myself in a similar context, it’s hard—or sometimes impossible—to recall things.
Because each memory is stored in the brain together with a “context” or “situation,”
without that key (the context or state), the memory can be difficult to access.
And, as one of the traits of ASD, I tend to focus more on specific details (like who, where, what),
which means that my memories are often pinned to sensations or the environment of the moment.
So if I can’t recall things like “when, where, or with whom,” I can’t retrieve the memory at all.
When I heard this, it all made so much sense to me.
I also learned that by consciously creating or using “keys” for memory (photos, smells, music, etc.),
it becomes easier to recall people or events.
So I thought I might use this journal as a way to “organize my own context,”
by adding photos or similar memory triggers.
Maybe I’ll start gradually including pictures.
To everyone out there—whether you’re dealing with small worries, big issues, self-reflection, or analyzing others—ChatGPT can truly help with everything.
I really want you to try it. It will open up your world.
Anyway, I’ll be editing videos for a bit and then heading to bed!
I’ll be at Studio K from 1:30 PM today as well.
Thank you to those who already made a reservation!
Looking forward to seeing more of you soon.
Good night!
