Hitoyoshi Onsen is a historic hot spring area located in southern Kumamoto, spread along the Kuma River and known for its abundant water supply with around 50 sources. The waters are clear, odorless, and mildly alkaline, including simple springs and bicarbonate springs, often referred to as “beauty baths” for their smooth effect on the skin. With temperatures ranging from about 42 to 48 degrees Celsius, the baths are said to help with neuralgia, rheumatism, and skin conditions.
