Yoshinogari Ruins
Yoshinogari Ruins is one of Saga Prefecture’s most iconic historical sites, known as a vast park where a large Yayoi-period moated settlement has been carefully reconstructed. The site features around 98 restored buildings and a surrounding moat stretching approximately 1.4 kilometers, allowing visitors to experience ancient life and social structures. In the northern inner area, remains believed to match descriptions from the “Records of Wei” have been excavated, while the northern burial mound preserves actual archaeological structures for viewing. Hands-on programs such as magatama bead making and metal casting are also available.
